Welcome to the Phoenix Judo Club's official blog site. Phoenix Judo is a USA Judo affiliated Judo Club. We are located in the Bayshore Athletic Club, 14 Plain St. in Braintree, Massachusetts. Please check back often for updates.

During the winter months, please check here for cancellation information due to weather. Information will be posted by 5:00 pm if a cancellation is required during the week. On Saturdays, this information will be posted by 9:00 am. If nothing is posted, please assume that class is running as scheduled.

Holiday cancellations will be posted a few days prior.

Monday - Kids 6:00 - 7:00
Tuesday - Adults 7:30 - 9:30
Wednesday - nothing
Thursday - Kids 6:00 - 7:00
- Adults 7:30 - 9:30
Friday - nothing (First Fridays are still in effect)
Saturday - Kids 10:00 - 11:00
- Adults 11:00 - 1:00

JAY BROOKS - Head Sensei

5th degree black belt and president of Massachusetts Judo, Jay has been practicing Judo for over 35 years and has run his own Judo club for over 15 years. He is a fierce competitor and a keen technician. He has been competing nationally and internationally for most of his Judo career. Sensei Jay Brooks is a Nationally certified coach.

Roger Mazzella - Godan - 12 yers elite ranked player in USA. #2 in USA 2003-2004, US World Cup Team Qualifier 2003-2005, 2007-2008, 5X Rendezvous Bronze Medalist, 2004 Olympic Trials

World Masters Judo Championships Aug 18 - 22

Hey Phoenix Judo
Our Sensei Jay competed at the 12th World Masters Judo Championships in Montreal and took a GOLD medal in his division -M3 -60kgs. His fights have been uploaded to our youtube channel www.youtube.com/phoenixjudo1

As well, Tami won a silver in F1-70, silver in the newaza competition and bronze in the F1 open weight division.

Phoenix is proud of all of its members and would like to also congratulate Diana Weisbach on her gold, Istvan Illes on his gold and Patrick Lam on his bronze as well. Well done!
