Welcome to the Phoenix Judo Club's official blog site. Phoenix Judo is a USA Judo affiliated Judo Club. We are located in the Bayshore Athletic Club, 14 Plain St. in Braintree, Massachusetts. Please check back often for updates.
During the winter months, please check here for cancellation information due to weather. Information will be posted by 5:00 pm if a cancellation is required during the week. On Saturdays, this information will be posted by 9:00 am. If nothing is posted, please assume that class is running as scheduled.
Holiday cancellations will be posted a few days prior.
5th degree black belt and president of Massachusetts Judo, Jay has been practicing Judo for over 35 years and has run his own Judo club for over 15 years. He is a fierce competitor and a keen technician. He has been competing nationally and internationally for most of his Judo career. Sensei Jay Brooks is a Nationally certified coach.

December 27, 2010- CLASSES ARE CANCELLED
Due to the weather in the Greater Boston Area, both classes - adults and children are cancelled tonight. Don't forget to check back here often over the coming winter months about closures.
4. Regulation blue or white judogis only may be worn on the mat
5. Ranks obtained only in Judo m ay be worn, all others will wear a white belt
6. Footwear must be worn at all times off of the mat
7. Finger and toenails must be kept short and clean
8. Long hair must be tied back
9. Participation in the class warm up is required to be performed to the best of your physical abilities in order to ensure your body is ready to participate in Judo
10. Please report any injuries or medical conditions or medical conditions to the instructor in charge, regardless of whether you feel they will impede in your participation
11. The instructor in charge is responsible for everyone’s safety and well-being, and should therefore be listened to and their decisions must be respected at all times
12. Jewellery must be removed
Stepping onto the mat at The Phoenix Judo Club indicates that you are ready and willing to follow the above rules. If you are unable to do so, you will be asked to leave the mat.
